We're Home!

We came home Thursday afternoon as a family of three (4 if you count Jack). Things are going so good, our little girl has been a terrific eater and sleeper thus far. Mommy & Daddy are a little sleepy, but feel blessed beyond all measure. Here are a few photos of us leaving the hospital and arriving home. My cousins Kim & Wendy had the stork delivered for us, I was so shocked when I pulled in the drive. Our first night was great, she slept and ate every 3 or so hours. We gave her a little sponge bath this afternoon and she barely whimpered, oh how God has blessed us with a sweet baby. Though, we are very glad Nana is staying with us thru Sunday for backup!

Here is a photo of Daddy reading to Lola. Andrew has been wonderful, he has done such a great job of taking care of me and he is so good with Lola. We love you Daddy!

Nursery Photos

Here are a few pics of the nursery. It turned out so good! We are still waiting on the rocker, I will have to post photos again once it is in the room. The big D Day (delivery) is tomorrow. Today I am just relaxing at home, I think I will get out this afternoon for one final pedicure and a last trip to Target. We are so excited and can’t wait to see and hear Lola for the first time. Hopefully I will be posting baby pics soon!

Family Shower

We had a family diaper shower this weekend. It was so much fun, special thanks to all those that put it together. Here are a few photos from the shower.

One huge surprise was my great friend Lori showing up! She was in town from Texas visiting her parents and decided to show up and surprise me at the shower. It was so good to see her. Here is a photo of us measuring our pregnant bellies, I think I got her beat (Lori is having a lil boy due in November).

The end is near!

I can see a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. I had a doctor’s appointment today, I am still 3 cm dilated and holding. My doctor thinks I can go into labor at any minute now, so we are just waiting. She has scheduled me to be induced on June 24th, just 11 days away. I really pray I go into labor, but I will be happy to be induced. Just really uncomfortable, ready to not be pregnant and holding my baby girl. Nursery is getting there and I hope to post photos next week, we are just waiting on one painting, a rocker and bumper pads to be finished (we are cutting it close). We also need to pick out a rug. We have a busy weekend, my family is in town and we have a big shower tomorrow night. Wouldn’t it be nice if she just came this weekend while everyone was already in town??

Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT

Boy, do I feel sorry for all those pregnant women who have to go through the summer months. I break a sweat walking to and from my car these days, no telling what I might do if I were ever pregnant in the months of July & August! Besides the warmer weather, all is good with the pregnancy & Lola. I had a doctor’s appointment this morning and was already 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, so things are slowly starting to progress in the right direction.
We had another shower last Friday at Andrew’s work. We received so many nice things and it was so much fun. The best part was the cake (I love cake icing). It was just a regular sheet cake but the icing was to die for and the best part is it came from Target! Yeah, there is a super Target out by Andrew’s work and they make cakes, just another reason why Target is the best store ever. Our camera died after we took the first photo, so below is the only pic we have from the shower.

On Monday, one of my closest friends Leslie and her husband Paul were in town. Andrew & I were able to go and meet them for dinner. Leslie and I have not lived in the same town since college, but we remain good friends. Her and Paul are moving this weekend to Greenville, NC to begin their medical residency (yes, they are both going to be doctors). Here are a few photos…I look like a giant next to Leslie, like I am about to eat her or something. Not sure what kind of painting Leslie and I are standing by, but she really liked it and wanted it in the background of our photo!
